Day 5

We spent day 5 riding our city bikes around Amsterdam. We visited Vondelpark and the Hollandsche Manege (Dutch Riding School). We then biked over to the Vincent van Gogh Museum and saw where Anne Frank spent 2 years of her life during WWII. Of course we visited the red light district (our hotel was located in it).

Day 4

On our second day in Paris, we headed up to Sacre Coeur and the down to the open Louvre. We saw the usual in the Louvre, the Mona Lisa, a mummy and Venus de Milo as well as some other great works of art. We indulged in crepes and snails, and then left to go to Amsterdam that night.

Day 3

We headed to Paris on our third day via the Thallys train. We had a wonderful hotel just outside the loop and could see Sacre Coeur from our balcony. We rode the metro to the Arc de Triomphe, and walked down the Champs-Elysees to the Louvre (which is closed on Tuesdays, we found out). Took another Metro to Notre Dame, and then finally we went to the Eiffel Tower for dinner. We rode both elevators to the top (it was cold that night!) and got some cool night shots of Paris.

Germany Day 1

Okay, I'll finally post about our trip to Germany. We took off Saturday morning from Phoenix, and arrived at 9 am on Sunday in Cologne, Germany. Cologne (or Koln) is Germany's fourth largest city, and it was so young! Young couples with children were walking around everywhere in the city (Even when it was 45 and raining). The only think to survive WWII was the Dom, or Cathedral, in Cologne. The did remove all the stained glass and artwork before the bombings, so that survived as well as the structure. It was very impressive. We walked the 509 steps to the top of one of the towers and got a birds-eye view of the city and the Rhine. We also visited a city park and had the first of many germany meals.

Softball

Scott and I played a total of 1 game together for our Gilbert Softball league, and we won the game. Coincidence? I think not. Thanks to Mom for the great pics.
