4 Months

Happy 4 month Birthday Tessa! You are out of your "Fourth Trimester" and you're a REAL person now - Hooray! Reality is your personality has been coming out in full force the past couple of weeks. You are such a happy baby, smiling at everyone... but you also have quite the temper! If you can't get what you want, you let us all know. Usually it involves a toy not reaching to your mouth (you're still perfecting that hand-to-mouth accuracy), or protesting going down to a nap. But you sure surprised your Dad when you wanted nothing to do with a bottle while mom was away (your new nanny isn't going to like that at all)! Speaking of naps, you have transitioned to your crib for naps and at night. And we are working on having you fall asleep on your own.

You love your 2 fingers, your thumb, doggies (you think Addie is the best) and Mommy and Daddy. You like Grandma Sheryl most of the time (you hate riding in cars with her). You are still a fan of being held and haven't figured out that you can jump and move around in your activity center. But I am sure that is what is going to come next! We have your doctors appointment in 2 days, and I am excited to see how long you are (I am guessing 25inches and 12 pounds) Love you bunches T-Bear!

Race Judicata II

Last year we shared this photo of us after Race Judicata -

But there was a photo that we didn't share at the time -

Just after getting home from the race I took ANOTHER pregnancy test* (I had already taken about 5 in the past 2 weeks), thinking it would still be negative. But I was obviously wrong. It told us to get ready for the most amazing 9 months (plus 1 week) of our life so far.

This year Scott pushed Tessa (since I carried her last year), and she fell asleep like a good baby should. I was so looking forward to this day to celebrate what we have accomplished in a year. I couldn't have turned out any better.

We were joined by so many friends, including Christina, The James' Family, Amber, Annalee & Hunter and my Mom! Great job to everyone, and I am already looking forward to next year.

*Last year I made Scott stop at Walgreens on the way home to pick up another test, and a diet coke. Because if this test was also negative, I was going to have me some diet coke goodness. Scott ended up drinking the whole thing in front of me, savoring every sip.

Warning - Disturbing Images to follow

Remind me not to have Tessa sit up so close after she is done eating. This is the result -

doing ok...
not feeling so well...

feeling better :)
Also on a side note, I didn't run last night because I was busy watching The Biggest Loser. Glad I am the only person this show has the opposite effect on - I toss exercise out the window to sit on the couch. My pre-pregnancy clothes hope that doesn't happen again.

Daddy's home

Although you can't tell it here, Tessa was excited to see her Dad after a long weekend in Vegas. And if you ever need some tips on sports betting, just ask Scott who he put his money on... then do the opposite.

14/52

Tessa had a busy week! She first visited The Heard Museum in downtown Phoenix, followed by a day of rolling over. She also played (aka chewed) in her new Jenny Jump Up. She also went on her first hike (out of the womb that is) to the San Tan Mountains. It was a cool 75 degrees and rainy today, a much needed break from the 100+. Also, I've accepted a new position, and will be returning to work in November, so we have been checking out childcare options this week as well.

Grandpa is in town this week, so I am sure we will another busy one... and Scott heads off to Vegas this coming weekend, so it will be all girls hanging out. Wish me luck on my search for a sitter!

Three Years

Today is our Three Year Wedding Anniversary. I am too lazy to get out the external hard drive to pull a picture of our wedding off of it. But we received some great cards today and one of them had this saying written, and I think it is beautiful and so true.

The only thing better than sharing memories is sharing dreams.

Love you Scott! Here's to many more years.
