3 months old, and picture overload

Happy 3 month Birthday Tessa! What a month it was. You are growing and maturing so fast. We were at a party last night and no one even heard you cry; you are such the happy baby. So here is your 3 month photos -

And you have learned a new trick, sitting with support (she is smiling at Scott)

And I forgot to mention that the party was a pool party! You loved swimming and you were the most fashionable baby there in your cloth swim diaper.

All worn out from swimming.
And... for the past 2 nights you have slept in your bed. And last night it was for 8+ hours. Here you are working her way out of the miracle blanket (which I thought was Houdini proof).
Happy to see Mommy in the morning.

Worlds Worst Cat

Finn is going to kitty Hell. She is pure evil. It began with Addie's dog bed that sits in the living room. It is made out of Crypton fabric, which is water, stain and bacterial resistant... and it has weimaraners on it. Too perfect for our little weim. Finn decided that she hated that bed. And she wanted everyone to know. At night, when we were peacefully sleeping, Finn would pee on the bed, leaving us (and Addie) with an unpleasant surprise in the morning (Addie would go over to her bed, sniff it and put her head down and walk away. Very sad). This happened so many times that my awesome Crypton bed was no longer water resistant, resulting in having to wash the interior as well after each incident. So we would always have to pick up the bed before we went into bed at night and lock it in our room with us, away from the demon cat (We cannot leave our door open because said demon will come and jump on the bed and wake us up). When Tessa came along and decided she only wanted to sleep in the swing, we needed to leave our door open to hear her in the living room silently swinging away. So, Finn now gets locked in the laundry room (with another litter box) at night, and we can leave the dog bed in it's place. Yesterday, I let Finn out of the laundry room and go about my morning, only to find about 30 minutes later that she peed on Addie's bed in daylight! Brave kitty. So I pick her up, show her what she has done wrong, and say no no no no no a million times. I recite this story to my mom and Scott, and my mom replies, "Well now she is just going to poop on your bed." And that is exactly what happened this morning. Poop on the bed. My bed. Seriously, this cat holds grudges. And this is not the first time it has happened. It happened once before when I returned to work after being home with her all the time, and one other time... not sure why, but I am sure if you ask Finn, there will be a reason. And so I am trying to be as nice to her today as I can be, to prevent this from happening again tomorrow. And that is hard! I was thinking today that maybe I will have perfect children because God gave me the world's worst pets already.

Worlds Best Baby

Tessa is the best baby in the world. Seriously. In the course of 10 days, we took 3 plane trips, visited 6 different houses, was held by too many people to count, took an extended car trip and visited the zoo. And she was terrific the whole time. Here are some (or all) highlights from the trip to St. Louis.

* Yes, I am obsessed with Tessa's new hat. She wears it all the time now. And I do realize that James is about to push my princess from his lap to the floor... but I love that kid, too. Notice in the picnic shot how he is shoving food into his mouth with his whole hand. That's how he eats. It's awesome.

grandpa

Tomorrow is our last whole day with Grandpa James. I think we will hang low and spend a lot of time on the big bed. Tessa loves her grandpa. She constantly smiles at him, and fell asleep in his arms hanging outside yesterday without even a peep from her (the girl hates to fall asleep). She knew that her grandpa had her, so what else would you expect?
Needless to say it's been a while since I've seen one of these. But I've seen a lot of them this week.

Tessa has a party

Here are some photos of the great-grandma's, friends and a great aunt and uncle with Tessa. I am so happy everyone got to meet our little girl.

She was so happy to see everyone!

Birthday Week 10

Tessa's new toy... and she loves it. I put her down underneath it for the first time and she smiled for 5 minutes straight at the thing. Hopefully this translates into liking her crib more so we won't have to start looking for an oversized baby swing.

Week 9 was great. Lots of smiles and she is still sleeping great (in the swing). Her legs are so strong, but she has the weakest arms! Tummy time is still a struggle, but she seems to be improving ever so slightly. She loves to look at her black and white board books and she can't wait to celebrate birthday week 11 with a little party in her honor.

Dinner and a Baby

I ended up making this and this for dinner, and everyone seemed to like it! The fish was healthy, the potatoes were not, but oh so good. We also had a spinach, feta and walnut salad.

And it has been a week since I've posted photos of Tessa, and I am sure certain grandparents are in withdrawal. She has found a pacifier that she likes, which is wonderful when she gets fussy at night. And Scott fed Tessa for the first time this weekend. We went up to Scottsdale for a 75th birthday party for a friend, and there was an extra bottle made that needed to be used. It was great to have a break too!
