2 month check-up

Tessa is doing great and staying on her curves (I think the height and head circumference from the 1 month appointment was wrong, as you can see from the pictures, she is much bigger). Here are her new stats -

Weight - 8lbs 14 oz
Length - 22 inches
Head - 14 1/2 inches

And yes, she got shots. She cried, I wanted to. And afterwards we went shopping. She feels much better now.

Thanks Aunt Katie!

2 Months

(1 month)

Happy 2 month birthday big girl. You have found your hands and like to play with your ears. You are still sleeping in your swing, but you must love it because you will be there for 7 hours at a time (thank you). You are starting to talk more with me, and I think you like our (short) stroller rides. You are growing into you hands and feet, and your hair... I don't know what to do with your long hair. We go to the doctor tomorrow to see how big you have gotten. You are getting to be so heavy! I bet you are close to 9 pounds by now. You still fit into your newborn diapers, and will for a while yet, so that is what you are to me still. My little standing, smiling newborn.

Friends

I knew Rachel would post these before I was able to, and I was right. She is on top of things, and has a baby, too. A 6 month old baby. A baby who goes to sleep at 7 and doesn't wake for 10 hours. A baby that they lay in his crib and you don't hear another peep from him.

Someday, Miss T. Someday.

We are working on tummy time. And this is usually, no wait, what always happens -

And then I make her do it all over again. I love this face-planting kid.

7/52

Birthday week 7/52 -

We've had a lot of ups and down this week. A couple of great sleep days, and a couple of days when I wanted to feed her to the wolves... or coyotes (you'll have to ask my mom about her story). Some may ask what my days are like with a 7 week old (or maybe I am writing this down for me so I will remember what days are like with a 7 week old if I ever get a crazy idea to have another one of these).

7 times a day I plop down on the couch for 1 hour to feed the little piranha, which is followed by 7 big glasses of water (which is necessary when it is 115 out)
She is now staying awake about 45 minutes after each feeding, and the past two days I have been able to put her down without her screaming at me. This is great, because I can get a shower or lunch or water my flowers (multiple times a day... see sentence above)
For the next 15-30 minutes, she cries and fights to go to sleep. She hates to sleep. And most of all, she hates to sleep in her crib. She slept so great those few days this week because she was in her swing. She is not going to sleep in her bed until she is 7 I am sure of it.
Then she sleeps... for how long nobody knows. Could be 5 minutes or it could be 6 hours.

So if you add all that up, that's 7 hours eating, 5 hours awake, 2 hours screaming... and 10 hours sleeping? That can't be right. I will have to go over my numbers again.

In other news, her eyelashes are getting so long, and her eyebrows are coming in. I can't seem to get a picture of them yet, still too light. But here are her long lashes, and some grins. And for you midwest people... stay tuned this weekend. We have some exciting news.

We're doing okay Mom - a post from Chloe an Riley

We've been doing a lot of lying around... a lot of it. It was only 106 today, but still, Riley didn't even leave the porch. And just ignore Kelly's sliding glass door, she's been busy, and it is her least favorite thing to do. Hope you are having fun with Sydney... and Katie and James, too.

Accessorizing

We got our bitty baby barrettes in the mail yesterday. Needless to say we have a lot of gender neutral clothing, and now she can wear her blue, yellow and green outfits and still look very girly.

My morning view
We have a sleeping baby*
What cute little toes!
Tessa... it's time to wake up!
Stretching!
Stretching the legs (Those wrinkles are almost gone)
Hey, who is that at the door?

Oh... it's my puppy dog Addie
Okay mom... can I eat now?
* Yes, she is on her tummy and asleep. I only let her sleep like that during the day, and I check on her constantly... but she sleeps much better like that!
