6 month weigh in
I finally got Asher into the clinic to get his immunizations today (we have dodged the flu so far... I think... may have had a mild case the past two days, but when I see 75 sick people each week, I get exposed to it all! But now that he is 6 months old, he can have the flu shot, too). His stats blow my mind though, because he doesn't look like a skinny kid to me.
Heights: 27.25 inches (70th percentile)
Weight: 15 pounds 14 ounces (13th percentile)
Head: 43 centimeters (30th percentile)
I guess I can be thankful that it's not his head in the 70th and his height in the 13th :) Ha!

6 months
Asher is 6 months old now!
What a fun guy he is! This last week has be pretty big for us as well. He started solid foods, first with some cucumber, followed by oatmeal and now carrots. It's hit and miss right now, but when he wants to eat, he loves it!
He is also becoming more mobile. He likes to roll and push up on his arms. I have caught him once going to his knees (I may have placed him like this for his picture). And he sits really well, too.
Because he is moving so much and his constant protest while we would wrap him, he has graduated from the swaddle for sleep, too! (I told you this has been a huge week!) He was so ready for it, and even slept thru the night last night (3rd time ever).
Keep on smiling baby boy!

Tessa's preschool christmas program was a riot. There she is standing by her two best friends, Grace and Dakota. The three of them are so much taller than the rest of the three year olds. We'll call them the super models :)

We had an amazing trip to the high country before Christmas for a special train ride to the north pole. We were hoping for snow, and we got LOTS of snow!
Boarded the Polar Express Friday night and traveled to the North Pole!
Tessa was so excited and soaked in all the sights.
Once we arrived at the North Pole Santa Claus greeted us.
On our way home, we sang Christmas Carols (including the 12 days of Christmas - see Tessa and Honey's Five Golden Rings?!)
And to the surprise of all the children, Santa Claus boarded the train! He gave everyone a silver bell. And for the record we all hear it ring.
The following day more snow was falling, and we headed right outside the hotel to go sledding.
After sledding and some lunch in Williams, we headed north on snow packed roads to the Grand Canyon!
And does it appear that I am tail-gating the snow plow? No? I didn't think so either, DAD!
Although it was nerve racking, we made it. And at the entrance to the Grand Canyon the park ranger informed my parents that there was zero visibility into the canyon, but we would need to pay our $25 dollars anyway. We ignored his words, and checked into El Tovar (which was an awesome hotel built in 1905) and enjoyed the festive holiday decor.
And then went out to attempt to see the canyon, which was not covered in fog... it was crystal clear and BEAUTIFUL! (and cold) I think I will let the pictures do the talking -
Sights from the car:
Beautiful all around. This was a trip of a lifetime!
