preschool brown? not today!

We actually did an art project that did not turn out as preschool brown! (i.e. all the colors are mixed together to make brown)  This is a welcome step for me.

Please let me know if you want a commissioned string art painting from Tessa :)

We have peaches!

In January, Tessa and I planted two peach trees to add to our farm :)  They seem to be doing well so far, and hopefully they may give us a few peaches this first year.  The Florida Prince bloomed first and has sent a lot of peaches already, and the Dwarf Bonanza begun blooming this week.

Scott laughed at the size of them (especially the dwarf bonanza because it is maybe 18 inches tall), and they are small compared to our HUGE orange trees.  But we did learn that our trees were planted 70 years ago!  We are having fun nursing our trees back to health, and they are almost ready to bloom for next years crop.

Mama got a new phone, and in the process downloaded all her old phone pics onto the computer.
These are her favorites.

In other notes - we get to see pics of Baby Mac tomorrow!  I am excited to make sure it is a healthy baby.  And no, we will not be finding out the gender, just like last time.

Chicagoans bring cold weather.

Last year around this time we had a hard freeze. Like all our plants died kind of freeze. It happened to be when The Colemans were visiting. They are coming back. Good news is that it has been cold this past week but it looks like it is supposed to warm up midweek for them. Put away the winter hat Tessa and bring on the swimsuit Claire!

Take a picture

Tessa was playing with her pipe cleaners, and thought the colander would make a good hat.  I asked if I could take a picture which resulted in this:

Then she asked if she could take some pictures.  She took a few minutes to set each of these pictures up, and even would re-adjust her "scene" if she was unhappy with the result.  Here are Tessa's pictures:

Then she acted as director while I took pictures of her and her baby.  She even made sure to tell the baby to smile in the first one.  Then she wanted her baby looking at her:

Finally, she wanted pictures of her Baby sitting next to her, then the teapot and then she was done.  All in all, it was a lot of fun.
