Good news

My closet has been cleaned and organized.  How is this important in bringing home baby?  No idea, but I feel better :)  And because no post is complete without a picture, here is some Tessa love -

Ready for baby?

We have 12 days until d-day, and although everyone keeps on reminding me that a newborn doesn't need a lot, but I WANT IT ALL DONE - and this is NOT what done looks like!

The changing table is in pieces, while it is being painted from black to white.

My car is trashed, and cannot be washed because the windshield was replaced yesterday.

OC keeps sleeping in the baby bed and chair, so I haven't washed the sheets yet.

Tessa keeps playing with the baby clothes for her doll, so those aren't washed either.

My hospital bag?  What's that?

And there are a few craft projects that need to be finished up.

1. Changing table in pieces  2. The room has the crib and rocker.  The crib has christmas decorations in it.  3.  1 pack of diapers and one pack of wipes on the left side of the closet.  4. The mobile is hanging in the closet in anticipation for another little girl.  If it's a boy?  He's out of luck.

Father's Day 2012

I hope Scott had a great day.  It began bright and early with presents made at Tessa's Summer Camp (a summer program at her preschool that she will be attending this fall)

While Dada tended to the flood irrigation in the back, Tessa went to work making her other Father's Day present - Spicy BBQ Rub (found via DesignMom.com)

He loved his baseball card and the rub.  Tessa thought it was good, too!

Tessa made breakfast - eggs and toast for all of us as well.  She does a pretty good job at cracking eggs.

Not so much keeping the bowl upright during stirring.

(dumping most of the eggs on the counters meant cracking more eggs, and after some reassurance that I wasn't mad, her sad face turned to smiles again)

We went to my parent's house for pool and BBQ in the afternoon.

And Tessa got some new toys to play with in the water.  Our little fish keeps getting better!

And what better are strong Daddy's for than throwing you way up high!

Hope both the men in my life had an excellent day!  Love you both so much!

I want to pet a horse today.

Tessa told me multiple times she wanted to pet Toronto today.  As luck would have it, I knew Honey would be heading to the barn this evening.  Honey and Tessa brushed Toronto a little bit, but the big winner tonight was Layla the cat.  Tessa was obsessed, and happy.

So maybe it is someone's else's birthday today, so I need to share Tessa's birthday now to share MINE tomorrow!

We had a Bee-Day party for Tessa.

I made her beehive cake, which I think turned out pretty well.  This was the inspiration.

Tessa picked strawberry cake, and loved the pink inside.  Cupcakes were made by Pat just incase the cake didn't turn out well.  Our favors for the families were jars of local honey that said "Thank you for bee-ing here!"  The kids each got a bug containers that Linda found at the Dollar Store, and we filled them with Bees, candy, balloons and more bugs.

Scott made pulled pork from the Pork Shop, which everyone enjoyed.

We attempted to make our own piñata, but after leaving it out in the sun to dry, we found that the balloon popped and exploded our piñata!  So a honeypot was bought instead.

Tessa's birthday gift from us was a sandbox that Scott and Papa worked on for two weekend.  It has been a lot of fun to play in!  She also received 4 new pairs of shoes, including glitter Toms from Taylor and family.

Grandma and Grandpa gave her two Adorondac chairs to sit outside by her sandbox, Papa and Honey gave her Ariat cowgirl boots, great-grandma and great-grandpa gave her a fairy book, and when asked what Tessa wanted for her birthday, she would also say a blue chair and a yellow chair for her and Talon to sit in.  Great Aunt Marcie, Great Uncle Larry and Uncle Mike made that happen!

The next day we celebrated her real birthday with a chocolate cupcake.

Happy 3rd Birthday Tessa!  And thank you to everyone who helped out and gave Tessa amazing present!

Moab Day 3-5

Day 3 in Moab began again at Arches.  We stopped by the Courthouse Towers and the Three Gossips.

My favorite arch was Double Arch.

After stopping by the Fiery Furnace, we headed out to Landscape Arch (and our longest hike).  Tessa finally slowed down and rode in the backpack.

Day 4 was our last day in Moab, and we took a local up on her suggestion to visit Dead Horse Point State Park.  She called it a mini Grand Canyon.  We agreed!

Day Five, we were driving back into Phoenix, but decided to stop in Flagstaff to stretch our legs in the Coconino National Forest. 

I am glad we decided to go even though I was 32/33 weeks pregnant.  We all had a great time, and I think Tessa was at a great age.  Next summer our travel will have to be much more relaxed with a 10 month old!  FYI - I will be 9 months tomorrow!

Did they stop?

Oh no, they did not!

Giraffe obviously made it through the move with us.  Different wall color, same chair, same giraffe, same kid.  This could go on forever!
