*I know she is still too little for this. Don't call the authorities on me. But she is really good about holding her head up :)

Happy Fourth of July
Tessa wishes everyone a happy and safe 4th of July!
We had more visitors today. The Barker family brought us some muffins and cookies that were excellent! Thanks for visiting Miss T and I am happy to see your little* boys again.

5/52 - sleep edition
We've made it one week closer to 6 weeks (I heard the first six are the worst). Thank you to all for your good thoughts and suggestions on Tessa's sleep issues. I am glad to report that she has been sleeping much better, and we got a new blanket that she cannot wiggle her way out of, which will hopefully make her sleep more soundly. After her few days of not sleeping well, she slept an amazing 6 hours long! (I didn't sleep that long because I kept waking up to check and make sure she was still alive, plus she was in her swing most of the time... meaning I was on the couch). The last couple of nights she has been sleeping in 3-4 hour stretches, so I can't complain.
We had some visitors today (The two A's, Stina and Simon). Thanks so much for holding, talking and changing Miss T.
She is growing length-wise out of her newborn onesies, but the 0-3 month clothing is still huge on her. I think they need to make half sizes. Here's some clothes that still fit -
As for me, nothing fits (unless it has elastic).

one month check-up
Stats
Weight - 7 lbs 4 oz (5th percentile)
Length - 21 3/4 inches (65th percentile)
Head 14 1/2 inches (45th percentile)
She would prefer to be called string bean rather than peanut :)
Good news is that she is staying on her growth curves, which is all that matters.
It's been a little (okay, more than a little) rough around here for the past couple of days. I am looking for all sorts of answers online, in books and from the doctor on why she is not longer sleeping in her crib, why can't I console her without feeding her, and when will this get better! I know it is just going to take some time. This too shall pass, and I just have to take it hour by hour (like the four hours I tried last night to get her to sleep). There is a highlight to my days now though... she has started to smile. I am not sure if it is on purpose or not, but she is awake when she does it and looking right at me, so I am going to keep thinking that it is just for me.

This is a more accurate representation of how my days look.

We've had a very fussy and hungry baby the past couple of days. Hopefully this is only temporary. Scott and I need more sleep.
