Baby Smiles

1 month

Congratulations Asher (and to us all), you are 1 month old today!  And in that month, you have grown 2 inches and put on just over 2 pounds.  You sleep like a newborn, but hey, you sleep, which is good for all of us.  You have the cutest little voice, and you started to smile yesterday.  You are just perfect.

Weight: 9 pounds

Height: 22.25 inches

Head: 14.75 inches 

* We used to call Tessa our little alien, because she was so scrawny.  And in comparing these two she did look a little alien-like :)  You can check her out here, wearing the same onesie.

Oh yeah - 4/52

I did weigh him at the clinic yesterday, and he has grown. A LOT.  But I will keep these vital statistics to myself until the big 1 month celebration on Thursday.  But someone likes his Momma Milk.

Someone missed her baby brother while she was at preschool today.  She loves him a lot.

Tessa goes to Preschool

We celebrated last night with a special "To School" dinner.  Everyone dressed up and Tessa was signified as the girl of the hour with her fancy party hat.  

And this morning, after a healthy breakfast, she headed off to her first day of preschool!

She was all smiles at drop off and pick-up and brought home a wonderful poem and handprint.

We'll call him fluffy

Yard work means finding wildlife. We have had two temporary pets this week. The first I contemplated keeping, but after Tessa wanted to drop rocks on him, we quickly found a tree to release him under. Meet Lochte, the banded gecko.

The second was dead within a few minutes. Meet fluffy, the desert bark scorpion.

Bamboo and the Whales

(sounds like the name of a band)

Meet Bamboo.  He is to Asher as Giraffe is to Tessa. You will see him monthly.  (coming up pretty soon!)  Asher loves him already, as you can see :)

And here are the whales.  A big thanks to Grandma Linda for these two wonderful gifts!  

And Asher actually does love these guys.
