thirty six eighty two

This post has been a while in the making... Let me take you back a couple of weeks when we got more rain in Arizona in 2 days than we did all last year (3.5 inches to be exact). This is what our yard does when it rains -

The yard doesn't drain well and water pools up, creating a wet muddy mess... and then Addie digs holes in the wet mud, creating more mud... which gets my house dirty. I hated it. Luckily I didn't have to deal with it that weekend because we went from looking at that dam of water to this dam later that afternoon -

That's the Hoover Dam. We drove across it, probably the last time that we can do that because they are building this -

A HUGE bridge that will bypass the dam. It will make the trek to Vegas faster and safer for the Hoover Dam too. Speaking of Vegas -

I had a great time with some girlfriends, and my parent's too.

Tessa came along as well. She was mad that the ugly and bankrupt Trump Tower obscured her view of the snow covered mountains.

Those are the only 3 pictures I took in Vegas, because you know what they say... okay, not really. I was just holding a baby most of the time so it was too hard to take pictures. But you can check some out here.

Tessa had way too much fun there and picked up a taste for wine while on vacation.


It's funny because she knows what NO means, and she will just laugh at us, try 1-2 more times and then give up crawling away with a smile on her face. It's hard not to laugh back.


She has been working on standing a lot in preparation for a playdate with our friend Jaxson. He is 1 now, and can even walk by himself, so Tessa worked hard so she could show off her mean skills.

Hmmmm... doesn't look too mean to me. It kind of looks pathetic.

Maybe she could impress him by making out with the sliding glass door. No?

Wait, that door goes to the backyard! I just remembered the meaning of this post!

It is done. I will no longer have to mow the grass (while in labor), fill in holes, water, sweep dead grass off the patio and floors. I now have eco-friendly (keeping some of that water in Lake Mead!) low maintenance, green all year long artificial turf.


And I love it.
