Lobster Day
Being adventurous in our Thanksgiving meal (again), we decided to cook lobster on Turkey Day. I said that I was going to take a walk when the lobsters met their demise, but my curiosity made me stay. The lobster kept moving in the boiling water for a long time, which Scott replied "It's just the nervous system, he's dead." Sure, that's what I'll think. Tessa also had her first taste of "real" food. She had sweet potatoes, which she wasn't too thrilled about. She kept on pushing them back out. (We tried again on Friday and they were a big hit) We hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!
(T looks a little scared of the lobster)

25/52
Tessa - You are 25 weeks old today! How times fly. I saw a newborn in the office this week who weighed over 8 pounds, and he looked so tiny, and you were 2 whole pounds lighter! I can't believe it.
Solid foods (aka rice cereal and oatmeal) are a big hit. I can't wait until we start the "real" stuff with you. Maybe Thanksgiving.
You are tough to make laugh. You'll give me and Dad a half-chuckle every now and then, but Addie, she makes you giggle. You think she is so funny.
I heard your new friend Aubry (our nanny's daughter) makes you laugh as well. It seems like her mom is taking great care of you during the days, and this past week you have saved all your dirty diapers and blowouts just for her (seriously, she did).
You've begun to wake up at 4am these past weeks. This is not fun. Please stop it. Even if we get you back to sleep, Mom and Dad usually don't.
You are proficient at rolling over now a days and we will find you on the other side of the room if we leave you for 2 seconds. (This might be one of the reasons you are waking up, because we always find you on your belly at said 4am visits) And you have found your toes, and will only suck on the right foot. You must know that lefties are sinister.
You got another hair cut this week to get rid of your wings and mullet. You look divine! And here is the proof -

And also you've learned a new trick...

It won't be long!

First Food
Showing all signs of food readiness now (since we are sitting up so well now!) Tessa had her first rice cereal today. If she could talk, I think she would just be saying one word to us - MORE!

5 Months! Giraffe Edition
Giraffe pictures are getting harder to take
We even had to separate the two for a while
But we finally got a keeper
And look what I can do as of today
Good job Tessa
Our trips
That's right. We were in Baltimore, and then we left for Orlando for a week of relaxation before starting my new job. While T was a bit cranky in Baltimore, she loved Orlando (I guess she just wanted her own room). We had a great time hanging out at the pool, riding the boat across the lake, fishing (but not catching), seeing alligators, the worlds tallest man, and hanging out with Aunt Dana, Uncle Steve and Meredith. We have a million pictures so hop over to Shutterfly to see the ones that made the cut.

5 Months!
Month 5 has been not much different than month 4, except she is getting bigger and her hair is getting longer! She is close to sitting up by herself, and if we prop her just right, she will sit there for 10 seconds or more. She has been a great little traveler, and I have no giraffe picture, and no height/weight stats, but here is a Happy Halloween wish to you all! (giraffe pics will be coming!)
